Ella's Soccer Season

Ella loves to play soccer in the Mason City Park and Recreation Fall Season League.

 

After two seasons with the same coach, Ella landed on a new team with a new coach this year.

She scored the team's first goal of the season, but it was an up-and-down, rainy season with many games cancelled. The team finished 2-2-1. 

Today, 14 October, a one-day, single-elimination championship playoff took place involving all eight teams in the league. In the first round, Ella's team played the team coached by her old coach, and won 4-1.

In the second game, Ella scored two goals to help send her team into the championship game. Here she is, above, streaking through the defense.

She did not score in the title game, but played superb defense, breaking up the opponent's attacks again and again.

With 7 seconds left to go, Ella's team led 3-0.
